March 1, 2006

February is finally over! (^ ^)

Putting it mildly, February was not the most pleasant month for me. A lot of bads things happend, to me, and to many who are close to me.

When I woke up this morning, everything felt different. It all felt...better.

It was a beautiful morning, sun shining, no clouds, no wind, no rain. And, to my own astonishment, I even woke up on time!!!!! A very rare feat these days. Before heading into work, I made a slight detour to my church for Ash Wednesday mass. To me it was a reminder of the cycle of life. Like the cherry blossoms in bloom on the trees all around me, life is renewed. Hope is renewed. Courage is renewed. In one word, Spring.

And if I had any doubts, once I got to the office, I was rewarded with another symbol of the return of Spring: The wall calendar. It was time to make it official, the flip from February to March. I'm sure it comes as no surprise to any of you that my wall calendar is photographs of Japanese gardens. And the photo selected to represent March- a big, beautiful cherry tree in full bloom!!!!! I had to stop and immediately show my calendar to my colleagues. It was sign, oh yes, a sign.

It was a wonderful day all in all. I had a good lunch with one of my colleagues, went for a walk outside, under the sun, during my afternoon break. Today I felt very optimistic about my future, like I could feel deep down inside my heart that everything was going to work out, it was all going to be okay. According to the calendar, Spring is coming (March 20). To me, Spring is here. (^ ^)
